Extended Cold Weather Advisory – Protect Your Pipes
January 26, 2026
A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from 10:00 PM tonight through 10:00 AM Tuesday, with very cold wind chills expected overnight. Forecasts also indicate continued below-normal temperatures throughout much of the week, including freezing nighttime lows.
Customers are encouraged to take the following precautions over the next several days to prevent frozen or burst pipes:
-
Drip faucets overnight, especially those on exterior walls
-
Open cabinet doors to allow warm air to circulate around plumbing
-
Cover or insulate exposed pipes
-
Disconnect outdoor hoses and protect outdoor spigots
-
Bring pets indoors and check on vulnerable neighbors
Extended cold temperatures increase the risk of frozen pipes, which can result in property damage and service interruptions. Taking preventative steps now can help avoid costly repairs.
If you experience a water emergency, please contact our office immediately.
Stay safe and stay warm.
